![]() The PRC does not "preserve the fiction that legitimate control of China is undecided". Skpstr, stop sending around this nonsense. It's in everyone's interests to maintain peace, and quite honestly WG sells games, and geopolitics doesn't sell games so WG wisely stears clear Think of the protesters in Hong Kong recently. I agree, but I believe that's on WG, and wasn't necessary. The PRC (and many in the ROC) want you to think what they do, because as long as you think that, (at least officially) then peace continues.Īnd it's interesting to note, even though they accept being the recognised government of China, the PRC is very careful, even in their own laws, not to explicitly name themselves as the legitimate government, to preserve the fiction that the legitimate control of China is "undecided". If Taiwan becomes independent, the ROC "loses" the war by forfeit, and the PRC's "we'll bring Taiwan back into the fold someday", by law, becomes "we have to bring Taiwan back into the fold NOW". ![]() That hasn't happened in China, because neither side is completely behind relinquishing China. The big difference is that, in the case of the American Revolution, treaties were signed, and the war was ended, because Britain was willing to relinquish their claim to America. Of course the rebels want you to think they're right. ![]() Yes, but the US was British before that revolution. Yes, Taiwan is China, but technically speaking it's the other way around from what the PRC wants people to think. Sure ROC and PRC have their own issue but recall that ROC was the China proper before the communists moved in. ![]()
